Last week, the S&P 500 closed at fresh all‑time highs (around 6,279), alongside the Nasdaq, thanks to a surprisingly strong June jobs report (+147K payrolls vs. ~110K expected; unemployment fell to 4.1%), which eased growth concerns while pushing Treasury yields higher and pushing near‑term rate‑cut expectations further out. The market also gained momentum from improving trade dynamics, including hopes for extending the July 9 “tariff pause” and a new U.S.–Vietnam trade agreement.
